A work of art is a thing unto itself but also a part of
the circumstances in which it was created. Although I
have no problem with Richard wanting to improve on the
thing unto itself, I want to assert the value of the
original Destiny Street as a reflection of its
circumstances that produced something that Richard may
see as flawed, but others may find valuable. Put it
this way: the situation resulted in more guitar tracks
from Quine than may have been produced otherwise, but
what marvelous tracks they are! I do hope the original
version continues to be available. I hope we do not get
into the situation that we find ourselves in with Raw
Power, in which only the Iggy remix is available, and
the original document is not--at least not for people
wanting to purchase it for the first time.
