I remember watching american family, and being intregiued by lance in ny annd that whole scean,later 2 years later I was living on the lower east side in chris stien apt and part of the growing scean. iremembeer going to cbgbs and carrying chris platform boots over do hed didnt have to walk around in them prefering his red converse hightops.Later on i met Lance loud his band played with blondie alot, i was putting together a big show at a gym and i wanted the mumps there we had blondie ansnd the dictators and mink deville the ramones and telivision werent available and no one wanted to play with johnny thunders due to past $$ disputes my main thing was showcasing Blondie and i really wanted the mumps, lance couldnt get a drummer i tried to help so we had to settle for some band the demones iwould of loved the voidoids but i dont think they were formed yet. I got to be great friends with Lance what a sweetheart always so happy to see you if he knew you!! so full of love and so funny a real loving open person. iremember his phone message a song ,hed sing do you love chocolate candy do you love chocolate candy..,His band was bitching and he really throw himself into it hed be drenched in sweat after. Once he asked me to come up and sing the finale with him he covered my arms in MUMPS ink stamps..I had no idea what he had in mind, when he called me on he goofed around asking me questions.,I remember saying that CBGBS was like the gong show then suddenly he went!@1234..and we were off he was swinging me around and we sang nobody can do the shing ga ling like i do...it was great fun.when i got off i was surrounded by my new fans one kid tried to grab my boot when i was on stage so i had to kick him.then later his mother pat came over and yelled at me for stealing the spotlight from her sons show it was scarey lance calmed her down and told her i was a good friend, i just have the sweetest memories of lance. i last ran into hin uptown he was going to some school we talked a bit then i heard he went to la and was writing, had i known he was writing for the advocate i would of written him to say hi i just always missed and thought of my friend when i read he died i was so deeply sad Lance Loved life and people and he added so much goodness to this world Ill always miss him ive told my children of him, one of the few always lovely and not screwed up people of that era 1974-1980 of my wild years. the mumps were ome of my faveorite bands and blondie telivision the dolls .the voidoids and the ramones and the slander band, i just recently found out theres a mumps cd and i cant wait to get it. maybe hes hanging out with johnny thunders who knows..,hey lance save a seat for me......love Debbie Cbs ps if any one has photos of me and my debeat with lance at cbs e mail me i had on a pink tanktop and blackpants and i was sorta streakyblonde brown long messy hair and almost as pretty as Lance, alot of camersa were flashing and his die hard fans were always there in the frount with there cameras thanks
