I have ever since hated the beatles and hated anything that anyone tells me is great

in those days the beatles were old (couple of years dead, at least 5 years past their prime (a great teenage group, a shit adult group) - history) the other Icon, Elvis, was 15 years past vital, I saw anything old as being obsolete

I love the voidoids and the heartbreakers and television and the ramones, but if I was getting into music now I would want to get into NOW music, everything else is history, surely there is something worth hearing now ?

Richard Hell the icon is ten years older than elvis the icon I dismissed all those years ago - I would much rather kids searched out new stuff than regurgitated old stuff no matter how good it was
