I have been listening to alot of rap lately
Its more melodic now its not just electronic "beats"
I bought the new 5o cents cd, its great I really got into it
And Missy Elliot's new one
My 15 year old son listens to my old stuff,he's getting into playing., guitar, says he's really learning alot from it
As for rap
I like it because its new and different
Im a blues rocker meself so I really ignored rap for a while
but I've been getting into it and some of its really great
But why does something HAVE to be new to be great
If somethings truly great its always great
I always listened to my old stuff and new stuff over the years
Ever era has its brighter points but these days there's nothing
Music is so bland and just nothing
The mid 60s were a golden time of creativeness through to the mid 70s then there was Disco all over
Thank god there was punk
Then came new wave drone goth euro trash
MTV., Duran Duran 24-7., Guns & Roses saved me from boredom for awhile till that ended..,
And with the exception of a short burst of creativety out of seattel that spawned some other creativeaty it sputtered and died ............, NOW
Boy bands ,and every singer doing arobic dancing.., whats with that? theres so much of that stuff
Its pure crap for the most part the majority of the stuff being pumped out
Thats when its great theres old stuff to listen too
When its good when its real
Its always real
Guess we'll all have to wait around and see., this shit cant last forever
Or can it?
