since I only have a minute, that the few times I've read David Foster Wallace, I found myself overwhelmed with the desire to scream, "SUCK MY DICK!" at the pages, and the footnotes, and whatever. I largely agree about timeframe for essays worth reading.

I may add some more to this post later, as I have to go now, but also, I have done a little hyperlink experimentation that may or may not be like what you're describing and I'm a lot interested in it, and wonder if you can point to an example of what you mention. I think the meta-cyber-physical-philosophical needs continuing and better exploration.
