Regretfully, nobody has mentioned a little known--perhaps it is familiar in a slightly altered format--artifact released by Punk Vault called "Television: New York Stories." This compilation is derived from 16 ballads performed at CBGBs and Mothers in NYC in 1975 and 1976--post-HELL. I would strongly recommend it to any serious listener of Television. I prefer the simplified, spitting sound in 75 compared to the the cleaner--and still impressive--euphonies of "Marquee Moon" and "Adventure." Aside from haranguing hissing--the bane of live shows--it is a fantastic collector's piece. I thought it might be worth addressing given all the Verlaine posts spewing forth.
