throwing our weight around

Murray, the scary thing is how vividly I can imagine a Shock and Awe cover of Hurt Me. You MUST do it.
Just for what it's worth, I thought I should mention that I always had the idea that it would be interesting just to get any musicians visiting this forum to send me THEIR OWN music, and see what it was all like in the end - this hairbrained idea of James', though, is something else altogether.
Richard could, you know, sue us. All of us. For money we don't have, and won't be getting for our crummy renditions of [Hurt Me].
For my part, I'll be doing, 'Betrayal Takes Two', which, as I've said before [and am saying again], always stands out as being simultaneously the sexiest and funniest song all at once. I expect James will have a guest appearance on my recording of it, but I will imitate Richard's voice better.
Dang! Why must we work seven days a week and have no time to play the music! It's got to change...
******read further at your own risk********
Meanwhile, back at the ranch [in my head], I was just thinking the other day that Richard Hell is actually a Meme, which is really irritating because all that postmodernist viral-thought-theory stuff really aggravated me when it was getting press a decade ago or whatever, but in fact, Richard, you are a self-perpetuating thoughtform. That is, it occurred to me that my whole romance and ultimate marriage to, forming of company and opening of bookshop with, and foreseeable childhaving with James, is perhaps nothing more than a way for the Richard Hell Meme to make its way through the world, using us as carriers. This is partly because we have sold LOTS of the copies of Go Now that Richard so obligingly signed for us, including to people who didn't know who he was, and two of three copies of Hot and Cold, since opening barely two months ago. I mean, these are better sales figures than for the Davinci Code. We recommend them, but people also just find them. See, Richard Hell got into my head and carried himself to Bath via me. Already being in James' head, he arranged to propagate the idea of himself even more by hooking us up. Godlike? I think not. Okay, I admit to having a crummy night's sleep, but the idea still nags at me. Dang old metafiction everywhere. |
