Hello, I just came across this site following a thread about CBGB's. Anyhow, great web site. I went to CBGB's several times in Nov-Dec 1978. Once, while there, I was hit in the head by a spitball from one of the Dead Boys. I can see his face, I don't remember his name. I remember seeing Pere Ubu perform there. And the Cramps.
I just wanted to say that on August 3, 1979, in Dayton, Ohio, I saw Richard Hell & The Voidoids perform at the downtown jazz and blues club "Gilly's". It was such a great show. Not much of a crowd showed up, but those who did were real punks. I wasn't a punk, but I liked hanging around that crowd in those days. I shot two 50 foot, silent, color, super 8 reels at the show. I was real close and it's absolutely crazy footage. Richard Hell goes nuts. Six minutes total.
