I don't think the Ramones did it conciously, I just think it's neat hearing a punk riff before punk happened. I like the Beatles but my point is I believe Bowie replaced them in a way as far as being a pop star that had a lot of integrity and influence and yes, Bowie liked the Beatles & Dylan a lot. But he had the great taste to like Iggy & Lou Reed as well.

I like how Bowie could right a song and kind of will his destiny, he wrote "Star" and then became one, sang, "I want the young Americans," and that was the song that really broke him in the states.
