In fairness, those so-called Eno sessions sound like demo recordings pretty much always do. It's not like: Christ! With Eno they sound like Roxy Music! They sound like down-tempo Television with shitty equipment, and Verlaine maybe lacks confidence. Eno's contribution? Negligible, although he might play a bit of piano on the latter part of Marquee Moon. He might not even have been involved, except as a cipher. That's Eno for you...
